The Name Giving ceremony is an occasion when a new birth is celebrated and a child is welcomed into the world. The Name Giving ceremony also provides an opportunity to present the newest member of the family before family and friends. Family relationships are deepened, and parents, godparents, family and friends become more aware of their responsibilities.
